Following is a transcription of the above person's (TN) obituary from the Dickson
County Herald dated Friday, Jan. 18, 1929:
"W. J. Redden, aged 80 years, died Saturday morning, January
12, 1929, at the home of his son, George Redden, at Spot, in Hickman county, after a few
days' illness of flu-pneumonia. Funeral service was held Sunday conducted by Elder
H. M. Sanders, and interment took place in the Redden graveyard on Piney. He is
survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Redden; five sons, Charley Redden, of Goodrich; Sam
Redden, of Murray, Ky.; George Redden, of Spot; Van Redden, of Detroit; Cullum Redden, of
Dickson, and five daughters--Mrs. Berry Holland, of Detroit; Mrs. Raymond Fussell, of
Dickson; Mrs. Katie Baker, of Columbus, Ky.; Mrs. Willie Bell, of Dickson, and Mrs. Homer
Bell, of Dickson, also 3 brothers, G. C. Redden, T. B. Redden and R. J. Redden, all of
this county; five sisters, Mrs. R. D. Steele; Mrs. Sophia Work, Miss Elizabeth Redden, of
this county, and Mrs. Joe Harrison, of Nashville."
