Following is a summary of the Confederate States Army records of William DAVIS of Company B, 14th Tennessee Infantry, Confederate States Army.

William DAVIS enlisted in the Confederate States Army on May 17, 1861, at Camp Duncan, Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee.  He was recruited by Col. Wm A. Quarles.

The name of William DAVIS appears on a Company Muster Roll for the months of September and October 1863.  He is shown as present.  This record shows that William was last paid by Capt. Allensworth on August 31, 1863.

The name of William DAVIS appears on a Company Muster Roll for the months of November and December 1863.  He is shown as �Absent on Furlough.�  This record shows that Capt. Allensworth last paid William on October 31, 1863.

The name of William DAVIS appears on a Company Muster Roll taken at �Camp near Orange Courthouse, Va., on March 30, 1864.  This record shows that William was 23 years of age when he enlisted.  This record also shows that William received a wound at Mine Run and another at Shepherdstown(?), Maryland.

The name of William DAVIS appears on a Company Muster Roll dated April 1, 1864.  He is shown as present.  This record shows that William was last paid on December 31, 1863.

The name of William DAVIS appears on a Company Muster Roll for the months of September and October 1864.  He is shown as present.  This record shows that William was last paid on April 30, 1864, by A. J. Allensworth.

The name of William DAVIS appears on a Company Muster Roll for the months of November and December 1864.  He is shown as present.  This record doesn�t mention payroll.  In the Remarks section of this record the following is stated: �Due $100 bounty.�

The name of W. DAVIS appears on a Regimental Return for the 14th Tennessee Infantry dated October 1862.  He is shown as �Absent � wounded.�

The name of Wm DAVIS appears on a Regimental Return for the 14th Tennessee Infantry dated November 1862.  He is shown as �Wounded at Sharpsburg, MD, Sept 17, 1862.�

The name of Private Wm DAVIS, 14th Tennessee Infantry, appears on a Parole of Prisoners Of War dated Office of the Provost Marshal General, Army of the Potomac, September 27, 1862.  In the remarks section the following is stated: �Name appears in column of signatures as William DAVIS.�

The name of W. D. DAVIS, Pvt., Co., B, 14 Regt, Tenn., appears as a signature to a Roll Of Prisoners Of War at Fort McHenry, Md., Oct. 18, 1862, paroled and sent to Ft. Monroe, Va., for exchange.  This record shows that William was captured at Antietam.

The name of Wm DAVIS appears on a roll of Prisoners Of War at Point Lookout, Md.  His date of arrival to City Point, VA was April 3, 1865.  He is shown as having been captured �Near Hatchers Run� on April 2, 1865.  In the Remarks section the following is said: �Released June 26, 1865.�

The name of Wm DAVIS appears as a signature to an Oath of Allegiance to the United States, subscribed and sworn to at Point Lookout, Md., June 26, 1865.  This document shows the place of residence for William to be Montgomery County, Tennessee.  This document shows the following about William:
