John Renshaw to George Uselton Jr.

Sept 1827

This indenture made this twenty sixth day of September in the Year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven between John Renshaw of
the State of Tennesssee and County of Rutherford of the one part and George
Uselton Jr. of the other part and of the county and state aforesaid
witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars to me in
hand paid by said Uselton the receipt and payment of which is hereby
acknowledged by the said John Renshaw and he therefore hath by these
presents bargained, granted and sold to the aforesaid George Uselton a
tract or parcel of land situated in the County of Rutherford on the waters
of the East Fork of Stones River, being the tract of land whereon the said
John Renshaw now resides, and contains one hundred and sixteen acres, and
also being a part of the <illegible> tracts of land granted to Isaac
Renshaw. Beginning at a white oak on the north side of the main road
leading from John Reeses to Charles Readys...the west boundary line of
George Dennisons...and contains 116 acres be the same more or less, there
is (sic) two acres of the land that I reserve for the meeting House and
Campground of the methodist (sic) Episcopal Church...
