DR ANDERSON DIES AT MISSISSIPPI HOME
Former Hickman Countian, Related Here, Practised Medicine for More Than
Half Century
News has been received concerning the death of Dr. T. M.
ANDERSON, former citizen of this county, at his home near Pickens, Madison
County, Miss., on Saturday, Sept. 6 after several days of illness.
The remains were buried at Soule's Chapel cemetery in Madison County,
after a funeral service conducted by Rev. Allen of Camden, Miss., assisted
by Rev. Henderson of Cameron, Miss. The Masonic order, of which
deceased was a member, was in charge of the final rites and an impressive
ceremony was conducted.
Dr. ANDERSON was born in Hickman County during Sept.
1884. The early years of his life were spent here, although he
successfully practised medicine in Madison County, Miss., more than 51
years. He was a member of the Methodist church, a Confederate
veteran, and a Mason. Widely known, he was honored and esteemed by
all who knew him.
Deceased was married in November, 1873, to Miss Mary E.
MONTGOMERY, daughter of the late A. V. MONTGOMERY, and they were parents
of three children, two of whom survive. They are Mrs. Ellis MARTIN
of Athens, Ga., and C. M. ANDERSON of Pickens, Miss. Other relatives
are two nieces, Mrs. W. D. THOMPSON and Mrs. John B. THOMPSON of this
place, formerly Misses Maggie and Minnie ANDERSON; a nephew, Y. F.
HARVILLE, of Madison, Miss., and other relatives in this county.
