Farmer Adjudged Insane by Commission

Newt ROCHELL of Defeated Creek, is Held at County Jail, Awaiting Decision of Distant Relatives

Newt ROCHELL, aged and well known farmer of Defeated Creek, is being held at Hickman County jail in charge of Sheriff W. T. Webb, pending the decision of distant relatives to take charge of the unfortunate man who was recently adjudged insane by a committee of physicians before Judge J. H. Clagett.  The condition of the patient has gradually reached an acute state, members of the immediate family having come to the conclusion that the husband and father was a menace to their safety in the home.   He was arrested by Deputy Sheriff J. C Yates and carried before the above commission, which rendered the decision and later amended the sentence to the state insane asylum by allowing the patient to be taken in charge by a son who lives in Mississippi, and who has not yet arranged for the removal of the patient to his home.
