Notes from Cheryl Davis-Holman's personal research: Curlie "Curl" Davis was born
February 1875 DeKalb Co., TN as the daughter of John D. Davis and Martha C. Fite. (On this
site is a picture of John D. Davis as a man with some of his sons and step son and also as
an old man with his second wife Mary Elizabeth Jacobs). Curl married Jim Amonette June 21,
1891 and then died approximately 1957 in Dowelltown, DeKalb CO, TN and is buried in Salem
Baptist Church Cemetery in Liberty, DeKalb Co., TN.
