Following is a transcription of the above person's (TN) obituary from the Dickson
County Herald dated July 3, 1936:
"Last week our community was made sad by the death of Mrs.
Mary Davisdon-Hunter, who had been in failing health for some time. She was born
February 5, 1851, and died June 26, 1936, making her stay on earth 85 years, four months
and twenty-one days. She professed faith in Christ in early girlhood and lived a
consistent Christian life thereafter. She was a good neighbor, always willing to
render whatever service of which she found one in need. Funeral service was
conducted at the grave by Rev. Mayhew, of Charlotte, and the remains were laid to rest in
the Hamilton graveyard near Vanleer. She is survived by seven stepchildren, a number
of nieces and nephews, many other relatives and a host of friends, who sympathize with the
family in their bereavement."
