Following is a transcription of the above person's (TN) obituary from the Robertson
County Times, Springfield, Robertson Co., TN, dated 11/04/1926:
Beloved Woman is Called Away
Mrs. Madalyn BELL Dies At Daughter's Home
Beautiful, Madalyn BELL is Dead! Beautiful not only in
person but in spirit and disposition; she posessed the rare combination of loveliness of
person and bright intellect, and had a keen sense of the humorous and a heart of kindness
and good will to all.
Mrs. BELL had been in feeble health for some years and was
showered with more love and tenderness than falls to the lot of many, by a beloved
husband, sister and daughter, who tenderly watched over her and made her days of
invalidism bright and happy.
When it was broadcast on the streets and in the homes of this,
her home town, Tuesday morning, that she had died suddenly at the home of her daughter
Mrs. Charlton SMITH of Clarksville, where she had gone only a few days ago for a visit, a
gloom of sadness was cast over the town.
Funeral services were held at her home on Cheatham street
Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 by the Rev. W. Weakley followed by interment in Elmwood
cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Will BELL, her only child, Mrs.
Charlton SMITH of Clarksville, and a sister, Miss Maude POPE, who made her home with Mrs.
BELL.
