Obituary for J. Finley Dudley
Following is a transcription of the above person's (TN) obituary from the Dickson
County Herald dated Aug. 22?, 1966:
"Jerome Finley Dudley was born April 6, 1863 and died
September 17, 1938, making his stay on earth 75 years, 5 months and 11 days. He was
the youngest son of Jim and Betsy Ann Dudley.
He was united in marriage with Miss Caroline Frasher March 8,
1888, and to this union were born five children, all of whom survive. His companion
preceded him to the grave one year, five months and eleven days, having died on his
birthday.
He was not a member of any church, but was a believer in the
Primitive Baptist doctrine. He is survived by one son, W. J. Dudley; four daughters,
Mrs. E. B. Anderson, Mrs. E. B. Harbison, Misses Gurtha and Arizona Dudley; ten
grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Mattie Dudley; several nieces and nephews and a
host of friends. 'He is gone but not forgotten.' "
