Obituary for Ida Katherine Edney
Following is a transcription of the above person's (TN) obituary from the Dickson
County Herald
dated Thurs. June 9, 1966:
"Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Katherine Edney, 83, were
held in the chapel of the Dickson Funeral Home Sunday, June 5, at 2 p.m. conducted by
Brother Willie Cochran, with burial in the Frazier Cemetery.
Mrs. Edney of Bon Aqua, died Thursday, June 2, 1966, in a Dickson
nursing home, having been in failing health for some time.
She was a native of Hickman County, daughter of Thomas Benton and
Mary Haley Yates. She was the widow of Millard Filmore Edney, who died in 1918.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Irene Haggerty of Silver
Springs, Md., and Mrs. Clara Dell Dudley of Dickson, Route 2; one sister, Mrs. Ella
Fleanor, of Bon Aqua; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews."
