Following is a transcription of the above person's (TN) obituary from the Dickson
County Herald, Dickson, Dickson Co., TN, dated 12/17/1909:
Bristol today mourns the death of Maj. H. C. WOOD, a distinguisted citizen. He was 72
years old. Major WOOD served as an officer in the Stonewall Jackson division of the
Confederate army throughout the Civil War. He was in forty-two engagements and was
wounded at Chancellorsville.
