Following is a summary of the Confederate States Army Records of H. R. DAVIS, Co. C, 50th Tennessee Infantry, Confederate States Army.  Consolidated in Feb. '64, with 1 (Colm's) Batt'n Tenn. Inf. and formed 50 (Consolidated) Tenn. Inf.

Harris Riley DAVIS enlisted in the Confederate States Army on Sept. 13, 1861 at Montgomery, Montgomery County, Alabama.  He was recruited by Capt. J. L. Calhoun.

He enlisted for a period of 12 months as a Private, at the age of 25 years.

H. R. DAVIS appears on a Company Muster Roll dated Nov. 9, 1861.  It shows him as a Private, Capt. J. P. Jackson's Company.

H. R. DAVIS, Pvt. Co. C, 50th Tenn. Reg.,  appears on a Company Muster Roll for Sept. 13, 1861 to Aug. 1, 1862.  He is shown as present.

H. R. DAVIS appears on a Company Muster Roll for July 31, 1862 to Oct. 31, 1862.  He is shown as present.

H. R. DAVIS appears on a Company Muster Roll for Oct. 31, 1862 to Feb. 12, 1863.  He is shown as present.  He was last paid by Maj. Jones on July 31, 1862.

H. R. DAVIS appears on a Company Muster Roll for May & June, 1863.  He is shown as present.  He was last paid by Maj. J. W. Jones on July 31, 1862.

H. R. DAVIS appears on a Company Muster Roll for Sept. & Oct. 1863.  He is shown as absent on sick furlough.  He was last paid by Hardercrift? Roll (no date).

H. R. DAVIS appears on a Company Muster Roll for Nov. & Dec. 1863.  He is shown as absent without leave.  He was last paid by John Decer? on Aug. 31, 1863.

H. R. DAVIS appears on a Company Muster Roll taken at Tilton, Ga. dated Jan. 27, 1864.  It shows his age at enlistment as 45 years. *  Remarks state "Deserted Nov. 1863.  Now at home."

H. R. DAVIS appears on a Company Muster Roll for Jan. & Feb. 1864.  He is shown as absent without leave.  He was last paid by J. B. Sugg on Aug. 31, 1863.

H. R. DAVIS appears on a Company Muster Roll for Oct. 31, 1863 to Feb. 29, 1864, shown as absent.  He was last paid by J. B. Sugg on Aug. 31, 1863.  Remarks state "Captured in retreat from Missionary Ridge."

Illinois, Aug. 1, 1862.

Harris DAVIS appears on a List of prisoners, taken and paroled during the march to the Mobile and Ohio Railroad.  The List was dated at Headquarters, Cavalry Division, U. S. Forces, 13th Army Corps, Holly Springs, Miss., on Dec. 25, 1862.

Illinois, and transferred to Naval rendezvous at Camp Douglas, Chicago, Illinois.  The Roll was dated at Headquarters, Rock Island Barracks, Illinois, Feb. 5, 1864.
