Following is a transcription of the above person's (TN) obituary from the Robertson
County Times, Springfield, Robertson Co., TN, dated Thursday 11/04/1926:
Death Claims Esq. George OGG
Was Member County Court for Many Years
The death of Esq. George W. OGG of Adams Wednesday afternoon
October the 27th removed one of the old landmarks. He had been feeble for some weeks
as the result of a stroke of paralysis and flu. Funeral services were held Thursday
afternoon at the Adams Baptist church by the pastor, Rev. William Goodman and Rev. L. S.
Ewton of this city, followed by interment at the city cemetery with Masonic honors.
In his younger days he was a farmer but for the past twenty years he was engaged in
the coal business and had been a member of the Robertson County Court for a number of
years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Palemia Strange OGG and two sons, Clay OGG
of this city and George OGG of Howell, Indiana.
Mr. OGG was 75 years of age the 8th of October. He was a
man of many sterling qualities, true and honest to the core, a man whose word was his bond
whose loss will not only be felt in his family and community, but throughtout the county.
Always friendly the kindness he extended to his fellow man was a shining example
worthy of emulation.
