Following is a transcription of the above person's (TN) obituary from the Dickson County Herald, Dickson, Dickson Co., TN, dated 12/17/1909:
With profound sorrow we chronicle the death of Miss Etta MILLER, daughter of Mrs. Chas. MILLER, who, after a long illness of consumption, died at her home at Treswell, at 6:30 o'clock, last Tuesday evening, aged about 30 years. Deceased was the valued correspondent of the Herald at Treswell and her thoughtfulness and efficiency were manifested in each week's contribution which came always promptly and tersely written. She was a most lovable character, shedding continuously around her an influence for good, and imparting that gentleness that only the pure in heart is capable of doing. From childhood she was a member of the M. E. Church, South, to which she showed devotion rare in human-kind. After funeral services yesterday, the remains were consigned to their resting place in the family cemetery, in the presence of many griefstricken friends.
It is the saddest of all earthly events that a young life so radiant with hope and so full of promises should thus be cut short at the threshold of its career, but God's ways are those of righteousness and doubtless His removal of this fallen(?) one from the army of mortals to that of immortals was because she had fully won the home prepared for her in the Father's house of many mansions.
