Obituary for Alex Monroe Davidson
Following is a transcription of the above person's (TN) obituary from the Dickson
County Herald dated 15 Oct. 1937:
"Alex Monroe Davidson died at his home in the Abiff
neighborhood Friday, October 8, 1937. Born on November 25,1864, he was 72 years, ten
months and thirteen days of age.
Mr. Davidson was married to Martha Goodman on October 5, 1884,
and to this union was born seventeen children. Survivors are his wife and seven
daughters and five sons, Elizabeth, Laura, Arbelle, Lena, Ella, Sara, Pauline, Alfred,
Sam, Woods, Elton and Monroe Davidson. Two daughters and three sons preceded him to
the grave.
The deceased joined and was baptized into the Primitive Baptist
Church in May 1912. In his illness he bore his suffering patiently and was willing
to go.
Funeral service was held at the Pleas Frazier cemetery Saturday
October 9, conducted by Elder J. A. Pope."
