Knoxville, June 2
On the 16th instant, as two sons of Mr. Wells of Hind's Valley, within twelve miles of this place, were picking strawberries, six Indians came up, tomahawked and scalped them, in his view, and went of without making further attempts on the family. - What Indians they were is uncertain, but suspicion falls on the Creeks and Cherokees.
On Sunday, the 13th of May, a man and two girls were fired on by the Indians within four miles of Nashville. - The man and one girl escaped; the other girl was tomahawked by the Indians.
Early on the morning of the 17th ultimo, his honor, Judge Campbell, and his party, on their return from Cumberland, about 4 miles east of Emmery's River, were attacked by a party of Indians who fired on their front, and killed Mr. William Clack, the only person in the party who had a gun.
