John & Sarah (Sallie) Rogers Coburn

Sarah was John's second wife. She was the widow of John Rogers. John's first wife died in 1894. She was Martha Collier. This picture may have been taken on or near their wedding day in 1896.

John Coburn was born April 23, 1847 and died February 9, 1921. He is buried in the Ralston Cemetery beside his first wife. He served with Co K, 111 PA Infantry and was wounded May 28, 1862. He was taken prisoner, released and received a "certificate of disability" Jan 14, 1863. On Feb 15, 1864 he was certified qualifed for duties and re-enlisted with Co K, 111 PA Infantry again.

Coburntown was named for him.
