Chancery Court Jasper September 5th 1854 a bill for Divorce and alimony.
Be it remembered that this cause against coming on to be heard on this fifth day of September 1854 before his honor, T. NELSON
VANDYKE, Chancellor and C. upon bill ordered of publication orders pro confesso proof and report of Clerks and Master in the cause
and his honor being satisfied that said ROBERT HEADRICK, has maliciously and without cause abandoned his said wife for more
then two years that this cause was not the effect of combination or bought out of levity that the complainant is of good character and
been faithful to her marriage vows and the said complainant has two children the issue of her marriage with said defendant,
HEADRICK, and that she is entitled to alimony and a tract of land of one hundred and twenty acres purchased by said,
HEADRICK, from his codefendant, JOHN KELLY, and paid for by said, HEADRICK, is all the means he possessed for the support of
the complainant and her children and being so satisfied his honor does fit to order adjudge and decree and does so accordingly order
adjudge and decree that said RUTHA JANE HEADRICK, be forever divorced from her said husband, ROBERT HEADRICK, that the
marriage here tofore subsisting be dissolved and annulled and she be restored to all her rights as a single woman that the title to the
lands in the pleadings mentioned to wit one hundred and twenty acres in the County of Marion Tennessee on the south side of
Tennessee River adjoining lands of, GEORGE W. RICE, DANIEL KILLGORE, and others it being the east half and south west
corner of the southwest quarter of section number twenty-one on first fractional township of range seven west in the Ocoee District
be forever divested out of said, JOHN KELLY, and his heirs and be vested in the said, RUTHA JANE HEADRICK, and her heirs
forever, and it is further ordered adjudged and decreed by the court that said, RUTHA JANE HEADRICK, and THOMAS
GRAHAM, her security pay the costs accrued this cause for which execution may issue.
