To
E. A. TEAGUE

State of Tennessee, Marion County, I, THOMAS SMITH have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to ELIJAH TEAGUE and his heirs forever for the consideration of eight hundred dollars to me paid a tract of land in the State Tennessee and Marion County and District No. 3 containing by estimation one hundred acres more or less bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at a Poplar near the Spring known as the BRANNAN SPRING and running south fifty, west five poles to a Spanish Oak and Hickory corner; thence south 77�, west eighteen poles to a Elm his corner; thence south twelve, west along COFFELTs line, one hundred forty-five poles to a rock corner on PICKETTs line; thence south sixty-one, east twenty-five poles to the big Road; thence south twenty west, twelve poles along said Road; thence south sixty-one, east forty-one poles to a stake in the Race Tract Field; thence north nineteen, east to a oak near the mouth of a lane, seventy-four poles; thence east fifty-eight poles to a stake on SMITHs line; thence north seventy poles to a stake on HOLLOWAYs line; thence west eight poles to a White Oak; thence north thirty poles to a stake on the branch thence to the beginning along the branch. To have and to hold the same to the said ELIJAH A. TEAGUE, his heirs and assigns forever. I do convenient with the said E. A. TEAGUE, that I am lawfully seized of said land have a good right to convey it and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land and every part thereof to the said E. A. TEAGUE, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatever this executed and given under my hand and seal this the 5th November 1855.
