To Anderson Smith

This indenture made this the twenty first day of February One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty One between Matthew Pryor of the County of Marion and State of Tennessee of the one part and Anderson Smith of the State aforesaid & County of Claiborne of the other part the said M. Pryor for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to him hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Smith his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land containing thirty-seven acres of land more or less bounded as follows to wit in said County of Marion on the South east side of Sequatchie River adjoining land of Matthew Pryor, Sr.

Beginning at the north east corner of side Matthew Pryor, Sr. 100 acres survey then running with the same west fifty three poles to a stake on a conditional line between Matthew Pryor, Sr., Matthew Pryor, Jr., then with the same Sixty eight poles to pointers on the school land then with the same east ninety six poles to a lower wood corner of the school land then south nine poles to stake in the branch then down the same as it meanders to a stake then north seventy one degrees west twenty-three poles to the beginning.

To have and to hold the said tract of land with its appurtenances to have and to hold with its appurtenances unto the said Smith and heirs and assigned the said Matthew Pryor doth warrant and forever defend against the lawful title claim and demand of him the said Pryor and his heirs and assigns to him the said Smith and his heirs and assigns forever in testimony were he the said Pryor hath set his hand and seal this day & date first above written signed sealed in presence of

Marion County, Court May 20th 1833 then was this deed to conveyance from Matthew Pryor Junior to Anderson Smith for thirty-seven acres of land in Marion County produced in open court also came the Matthew Pryor, Jr. with whom the Court is acquainted and acknowledged that he executed the said deed for the purpose therein contained whereupon it is ordered to be certified for registration.
