Amanda Manis & William Marshall Dalton

This picture is of Amanda Manis and William Marshall
Dalton/Daulton.
They were married in Hawkins County October 2, 1867. Several
of their
children were born in Hawkins Co.
Amanda was my great-grandmother. Her daughter, Laura Alice Maynard,
was my
grandmother.
Amanda and William left Hawkins Co in about 1885. They settled
in Bell
County Texas near Temple. In the early 1900s they moved on to
Lawton OK.
They are both buried in Highland Cemetery in Lawton.
The parentage of Amanda is not real clear. Amanda also used her
stepfather's
(John Jackson Lawson) surname of Lawson. Both names show up in
various
documents. William was the son of Emmet Martin Daulton.
