CEMETERIES

Thanks to the efforts of Suzanne, we are able to bring you Sue Reed's "Compendum of Henry County Cemeteries". Reprinted with permission.

Taylor Cemetery

Located Northeast of Paris off Hwy 79 near Paris Landing. (Copied from: (1) Mr. Charles' records, which indicate that this cemetery was flooded by Little Eagle Creek and the graves were moved to Parker Cemetery in 1943 according to records from T.V.A.; (2) Mr. Ray Williams' records which referred to this cemetery as the STANHOPE CEMETERY; (3) The Kentucky Lade Cemetery Relocation Project by Judith Ann Maupin (1975 which states that "These three graves were well above the flooded area, but the access would be periodically flooded. A1 the graves were identified and moved to the Parker Cemetery in May, 1943; and (4) W.P.A. Listing of 1936, which notes that there were 5 unmarked graves.")
