Eleven NSDAC Medals of Award and 19 Certificates of Recognition were presented to JROTC and ROTC cadets in Kingsport, Jonesborough, Knoxville, Sale Creek, Cleveland, Murfreesboro, Hendersonville, Brentwood, Springfield, and Martin, Tennessee.

Army ROTC Cadet Amanda Fetner at the University of Tennessee,

Martin, received an NSDAC Medal of Award and Certificate of

Merit from the Colonel Gideon Macon Chapter. The award was

presented by Aline Roberts, Vice Regent of the Chapter, who was

assisted by Lt Colonel Timothy Marshall, Professor of Military

Science and Leadership.

Army JROTC Cadet Lindsey Cooper at the Alvin C. York Institute in Jamestown receives the NSDAC Medal of Award, Certificate of Merit and check from the Tennessee State Society. This award is the State
Regent's Project and the Presenter was Chief Bruce Catlett.

Marine JROTC Cadet, lst Lt Dawn Hill at Hendersonville High School

was presented the NSDAC Medal of Award and Certificate of Merit by
Carolyn Christian Martin for the Middle Plantation Chapter.

JROTC Master Sergeant Taylor Harwood, Sale Creek High School in

Hamilton County, received an NSDAC Medal of Award and Certificate of

Merit from the Chattanooga Chapter.

received an NSDAC Medal of Award and Certificate. Presentation made
by Barbara McCoin, Chairman of the National Awards Committee,
Knoxville Chapter.

On right: JROTC Cadet Shania King at Bradley Central High School in Cleveland received an NSDAC Medal of Award and Certificate of Merit from the Chattanooga Chapter.


Patrick D. Vell, Air Force ROTC cadet at the University of Tennessee,Knoxville, received an NSDAC Medal of Award, certificate and check

from the Knoxville Chapter. Presenter: Barbara McCoin, Chairman of  the Chapter National Awards Committee. For more than two decades the Knoxville Chapter has been presented this annual award in memory of

Marianne Turpin Burke.

Ray Harding (right), President of the Lee School Association plants a pin oak tree on the grounds of the Lee Academy of the Arts. The tree was donated to the Academy by the Colonel Gideon Macon Chapter in memory of their Colonial Ancestors. Watching are several members of the Macon Chapter and of the Lee School Association.
