• Obituary: 21 Feb 1974, Lake City Anderson County Tennessee. Mrs. Myrtle Mae Fritts Isabell, 64, wife of Leonard Isabell of Fourth St, Lake City died last Thursday in Lake City Hospital. She leaves 90 survivors. She had suffered a heart attack the Sunday before her death. Mrs. Isabell was a native of Anderson County having lived in the Lake City area all her life. Her husband is a retired coal miner.She was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church.Besides her husband, she leaves three sons; C.L. Isabell of Caryville, Lonnie and Condy Isabell, both of Lake City; nine daughters, Mrs. Mary Johnson of Knoxville, Miss Stella Isabell and Mrs. Bonnie Smith both og Lake City, Mrs Pearl Daughterty, Mrs. Marie Tackett, Mrs.Christine Stepp, Mrs Louise Melton, Miss Charlotte Isabell all of Caryville, and Mrs. Thelma Kimberlin of La Follette. Other survivors are one sister Mrs. Leona Carroll of Caryville; one brother James L. Fritts of Lake City; 29 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; 20 step-grand children; 21 step-great grandchildren.Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Beech Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Seeber and the Rev. Richard Phillips officiating. Burial was in Beech Grove Cemetery.

She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Lake City.She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Tackett;parents Leonard Leroy and Myrtle Mae Fritts Isabell, brother Condy Dean Isabell; stepson Virgle Tackett; and step daughter Dessie Phillips. Bobby Lewis Smith, 26 of Route 1, Caryville, and Ray M. Isabell, 23, of Montgomery, Ill., were killed early Sunday in a one-car accident on Twin Cove Road one mile east of Caryville.
The car ran off the road and struck a tree, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol office in Knoxville.
Samuel Loyd, Jr., 25, of Caryville, was seriously injured in the accident.
Mr. Smith was employed up until one year ago as a laborer for Allied Steel. He was a member of the Baptist and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Stella Isabell Smith; Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Smith, father and step-mother; Adam Scott Smith half brother of Caryville three sisters Mrs. Jerry (Judy) Jeffers and Mrs. Kerry (Pauline) Albert both of Vasper, and Mars. Jimmy (Linda) Woodall of Lake City and two step sisters Melissa Crystal Mae, and April Sue Smith both of Vasper.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Beech Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. L.D. Tackett and the Rev. L.B. Huskey officiating.
Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
The family will recieve friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Martin Funeral Home in Lake City.

Burgin Stepp, age 69 of Caryville passed away Monday, November 29, 2004 at the Sunbridge Nursing Home. He was a member of the Little Cove Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Stepp was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by parents: Thomas Lee and Margaret Stepp and sister: Virgie Stepp. Mr. Stepp is survived by wife: Mary C. Stepp of LaFollette; Sons and daughters-in-law: James and Crystal Stepp of Jacksboro, Walter and Tina Stepp Young of Claxton, James Philips of Oliver Springs; Daughter and son-in-law: Vanessa and Randall Bunch of LaFollette; 7 grandchildren; sister: Lowbill Stepp Young of Clinton; Special Friend: Billy Ray Ward of Caryville; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were at 2PM Wednesday, December 1 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. C.H. Baird officiating. Interment was in Rains Grove Cemetery. The family received friends from noon until 2PM Wednesday before services. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of these arrangements.

Claude L. Fritts, 66, of Lake City, died Thursday, July 18, 1997, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Mr. Fritts is survived by two brothers, Tommy Fritts of Alex, Va., and James Fritts of Taylor, Mich. The funeral was held at 11 this morning, July 21, in the chapel of Cox-Martin Funeral Home in Lake City. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.
