Robert Newton Baker - 4th Superintendent Of Schools 1875

 

Rushstrong School **** Did you know... there are like 6 Rustrong Schools. They were all paid for by a man named Rushstrong and he said, "I will pay for the schools as long as you name them after me." One in each of I think 6 counties, Anderson being one of those also Knox Co.

 

 


Progress Report

NASHVILLE (AP) Bobby Cain, the first Negro to graduate from integrated Clinton, Tenn., High School, received a bachelor's degree from Tennessee A&I University this Spring. Cain said he plans to do social work in Columbus, Ohio, for a year, then return to college for graduate study. Clinton's integration in 1956 was accompanied by violence and the school was later dynamited.
