SPRUILL FAMILY WILLS
URI SPRUILL
May 1863
In the name of God Amen I Uri SPRUILL of the County of Tyrrell
State of North Carolina being weak in body but of sound mind and memory
thanks be to God do make and ordain this instrument of writing to be my
last will and testament in manner and form following.
1st It is my will and desire that all my just debts be paid out
of my estate.
2 I lend to my daughter Martha TRAVIS wife of James TRAVIS
during her natural life the tract of land I bought of Solomon ALEXANDER
and also the tract of land I bought of John DOWDY. I also lend her
two negro girls names JANE and ISABEL and at her death I
give and bequeath the girl JANE to Hester Ann McKIMEY. I
also give and bequeath the girl ISABEL to Nancy TRAVIS both
daughters of Martha TRAVIS. I give and bequeath the two tracts of
land I lent
to my daughter Martha TRAVIS at her death to William C. McKIMEY.

4 I lend to my son Little T. SPRUILL during his natural life
the land whereon he now lives known by the name of Clous Island and I also
give and bequeath to my said son Little T. SPRUILL ten
dollars.
5 The land which I lent to my son Little T. SPRUILL I devise
to be sold at his death and the money to be equally divided between my
three youngest daughters named Nancy, Elinor, and Angelico SPRUILL.
6th After paying all my just debts I give and bequeath all the balance
of my land and negroes and perishable property that may be left on hand
to my three youngest daughters heretofore
mentioned.
I hereby nominate and appoint William J. BEASLEY Executor to this
my last will and testament and at the same time revoking all other wills
and testaments by me heretofore made.

October Term 1865
Then was the within paper writing presented in open Court as the last will
and testament of Uri SPRUILL decd by William J. BEASLEY the
Executor therein named.
The lawful executor thereof was duly proven by the oaths of John W.
TARKINTON and Trimagen VANHORN the subscribing witnesses thereto
in whose presence the same was executed by the Testator. Whereupon it was
considered by the Court that the within paper
writing was and is in all and every part the last will and testament of
Uri SPRUILL and that it is admitted to probate and registered together
with this probate.

SPRUILL deceased as appears by the Record of said Court.
