SAMUEL SPRUILL
May 15, 1805

In the name of God amen the fifteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five I SAMUEL SPRUILL SENIOR of Tyrrell County in North Carolina being within body and in perfect mind memory thanks be given almighty God for the same and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing principally and first of all I give my recommend once to die make and ordain this my last will and testament and that is to say principally and first of all I give my recommend my soul into the hands of God and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in Christian funeral at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall revive the same again by the mighty power of almighty God and is touching such worldly estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give dismiss and dispense of the same in following manner and form.
ITEM. I lend to my beloved wife MARTHA SPRUILL my land with my plantation and all the rest of my estate during her life or widowhood.
ITEM. I give and bequeath to my beloved son URI SPRUILL the land on the west side of the road more or less and one feather bed to him and his heirs forever at his mother's death I give and not before.
ITEM. I give and bequeath to my beloved son SALATHIEL SPRUILL my plantation with the land on the east side of the road and one feather bed to him and his heirs forever at their mother's death I give and not before.
ITEM. And the rest of my estate I give to be divided MARY PAGGITT RICHARD SPRUILL OBADIAH SPRUILL ABIHER? SPRUILL URI SPRUILL SALATHIEL SPRUILL and I ask constitute and ordain my beloved wife and SALATHIEL SPRUILL executors of this my last will and testament and I do hereby disanul revoke and disallow all other testaments will legacys bequeaths and executors by me in any ??? ??? wills and bequeaves ratifying and confirming this and
no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I the said SAMUEL SPRUILL SENIOR have hereunto let my hand and seal the day and year first above written

Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the same SAMUEL SPRUILL SENIOR as his last will and testament in the presence of the subscribers.

The above paper purporting to be the last will and testament of Samuel Spruill Senr was Referred to a jury of good and lawful men was upon there oaths did say it is a good and lawful will.
