My KAY Interest(s): William and Catherine Trussell Kay from SC Fielding Kay born October 5, 1803, in SC. Spouse: Huldah Gray was born March 10, 1805, in SC Fielding A. Kay Birth Place: Gordon County, GA Mathew G. Kay married Frances M. Coker. Need Gedcom Zip File |
Current Specific Interests: I am most interested at this time in finding information pertaining to the parents of my ggg grandmother, Huldah Gray. She was born in South Carolina and married Fielding Kay, son of William and Catherine Trussell Kay from SC. Fielding was born October 5, 1803, in SC. Huldah Gray was born March 10, 1805, in SC. I don't know their marriage date. They moved to Gordon County, GA by 1846 where their youngest son, Fielding A. Kay was born. They saw six sons go to war. Only one returned. He was my great great grandfather, Mathew G. Kay. He married Frances M. Coker. Mathew and Frances were in Walker County, GA in 1870--by 1881 they had filed for a homestead in Jackson County, AL. They had nine children, William Joseph, Barney Virgle, Elijah Elisha, Elisha (twins--one died and because they were so young, the parents did not know which one died so they gave both names to Elijah), Cynthia Susan Huldah, Phalbia, Jessie O., Frances M. and Mathew G. Kay, Jr. The children married into the families of Norwood, Evans, Neeley, Stover, Tanner and others I am not sure of. Would love to hear of anyone researching this line of Kay families.
