St. Austell War Memorial - World War I and II

Many of the modern photographs were taken by Charles Winpenny, and are copyright by him.
He maintains a lovely website of Cornwall photos which changes daily; it can be viewed at http://www.cornwallcam.co.uk for free. He also sells CDs of each year's photographs..

Some aerial photos of the clay mines were provided by kind permission of Dae Sasitron, of Last Refuge photos. They sell prints of these and other photographs from their website.

Other photographs come from Geograph, a website for geographers, which is attempting to provide photos of subects reflecting every square in the Ordnance Survey map. Their efforts have resulted in many lovely and/or instructive photos of Cornwall. All photos from their site contain the notice "limited copyright" - the photos are for private use only.

Other photographs have been donated by individuals, especially Ian Bulte, Myra Davey, David Stick, Caroline Wiley, Lorna May, and Rita Bone Kopp, who have been generous with their help. Our deep thanks to all.

For some old photographs of Pentewan, visit the Old Cornwall Society page - http://www.pentewanoldcornwallsociety.com, and click on "old village photographs".
