Preface

The Starling family is found in Accomac County, Virginia where Isaac Starling and his wife (Isaac Starling, Jr.’s parents) lived as early as 1663. Isaac Starling, Jr. moved into what is now Northhampton County, North Carolina about 1720. He had several children; John, Abraham and Thomas, et al, all of whom had large families that are depicted in this booklet. In about 1740 after their father Isaac Jr. died, John moved to what is now Bladen County, Abraham moved to Johnston County and Thomas moved to Cumberland County with their families.

It is from these three Counties in North Carolina that the main descendant families of this genealogy emanated. Many of the men in the next generation served in the Revolutionary War.
