Mary Jones White
Picture Shared by Jerry Boyd

Mary (Polly) is the granddaughter of OLD Alexander Standridge, the daughter of Mary Standridge Jones, the neice of Rhoda Blevins, Martin, John, Lem, and Samuel James Standridge. She was at least 1/8 Cherokee and perhaps more. Mary is surely named for her mother, Mary Standridge Jones.

Mary Polly White was the daughter of James Jones and Mary Standridge born about Sept. 11, 1821 in Tennessee, probably Marion County. She came to Arkansas with her family in the late 1820s and early 1830s. She married William White, son of Charles White and Anna Flippo, before 1850. William disappeared during the Civil War. Polly was readmitted to the Cherokee Nation in 1888. She is on the "Old Settler" Roll. This picture was probably taken in the Cherokee Nation between 1880 and her death, July 9, 1892.

Thanks to Jerry Boyd for sharing this picture. His mother was Nina Ruth White daughter of Josiah and Ida White. Josiah was the son of Polly White.
