      RM of Heart's Hill No. 352

      The formation of Rural Municipality of Heart's Hill took place in 1911. The first meeting was on March 6, 1911 which was held on Section 12-36-26-W3.

      There was 18 schools in this district, the first seven being Alba, Allenback, Cactus Lake, Derrick, Englewood, Finley and Heart's Hill.

      The railway built its road through Cactus Lake in the early 1930's, so the municipal office was moved there in 1932. Mr. N.C. Mortensen was selected to move the office and contents from its location on secretary's farm in Finley district for a sum of $29.00.

      In 1965, a new office was built in Luseland as a Centennial of Confederation" project and was moved into in January of 1966.

      The old municipal office of Heart's Hill in Cactus Lake is now a muesum. The Municipality also owns two residents and a machinery shed which was built in 1968, in Cactus Lake as well as the Elk School which in it's central location in the Municipality, serves as a meeting place and historical site.

      Community pasture in the south-west part of the municipality was formed in 1939.

      In 1920, May 24th was proclaimed "Gopher Day". In 1914, each division gave prizes of $3, $2, and $1 to the most successful hunter, wityh a grand prize of $15 to the most successful hunter in the municipality.

      In 1935, the population of the municipality was 1450 and there was 320 resident farmers.
