It has recently been discovered that a pay site has links to many USGenWeb data pages and that because it links from within a frame, many pages look as if they actually belong to that site. Joy Fisher has put up an example page to show you what this *could* look like: https://sites.rootsweb.com/~sdgenweb/test/test.html --- Try some of the links and see what it looks like --- some of them have added frame-busters so you pop out of the frame which is one way to do it. If you click on the African-American 1870 Census - SE KY link you will see that I used a header I could copy paste on every page on that site.
I can put the coding below on any page on my Southeast Kentucky site and it will give the url for the page it is on because of the <!--#echo var="DOCUMENT_URI"--> used in the link and text url and whichever link (the page or the main site link) it will bring it out of any frame it is in because of the TARGET="_top
<FONT SIZE="-1">This page is part of the site located at <A HREF="https://sites.rootsweb.com/~seky/" TARGET="_top">https://sites.rootsweb.com/~seky/</A> There is no charge to access this site's pages. If you have arrived here from somewhere else, such as a pay site, and are in a frame, you can click the correct url of this page: <A HREF="<!--#echo var="DOCUMENT_URI"-->" TARGET="_top">https://sites.rootsweb.com<!--#echo var="DOCUMENT_URI"--></A> to break free of the frame.</FONT>
When added to a nice decorative header, below is what is seen on every page of the site, note the url to this page -- sampleheader.html -- which has been automatically inserted by the echo command.
