GOD HAS TAKEN OUR DARLING BABY
In memory of Baby Merle Hammond,
who died November 23, 1923

God has taken our little boy
To a place which he shall more enjoy
A place brighter, fairer than ours below
There I shall see him some day, I know

Of course we loved our little man
Loved him as only parents can
Loved him because of his golden hair
Loved him because of his smile so rare

We loved him because of his face so sweet
We loved the patter of his tiny feet
That little boy so sweet and fair
Has gone from us into that bright somewhere

It is hard to live this life below
Especially when our loved ones go
But let us think of our Father above
And sing to Him our songs of love

God has taken our little man
So let us smile as brave as we can
And save for our Darling all our love
When we go home to our Father above
