Trying to Teach me to be a webmaster

Before he passed away my son Bill tried everything in his power to get me to understand web page creation on the Internet. While I was at work, he remained at home and learned his way around the computer. He would get everything set up for me and when I got home he would "teach" me. Then, me being me, I "fixed" things and would practically undo all he had attempted to teach me. He often threatened to break my fingers if I did not leave well enough alone! Sadly, leaving things alone is not my nature so his work was really cut out for him.

He took the time to type out the instructions for uploading files or ftp-ing my files to my website click by click. I still have those instructions and now that I know what I’m doing, I see he was right. I just had to wait for my dim light to brighten. One day I just woke up and knew I knew how to do it, and I do.  So simple it is ridiculous!

Then when Sindi was home for his funeral we hooked up my 18-month-old scanner   (that I had never used) after I complained to her about my inability to master the thing. She told me to show her what I do and what I wanted to do. "Then I’ll show you how to do it." I went as far as I could and she asked what I wanted to do next. I told her I wanted to print it out. After she picked herself up off the floor from laughing at/with me, she said, "So click print." So I did and it printed. Good grief!!!
