Our precious granddaughter

Our precious granddaughter, Suzy Myrtle

I have probably said it before, but we have been so fortunate in that all three of our grandchildren were born six and seven years apart so we were privy to the "fun" years of each one before another one came along. I always stay in amazement when a "little person" has a mind of his/her own starting at about six months old. How do they know what their likes and dislikes are at that age? And the range in the individual personalities just boggles my mind.

How do grandparents with 25-30 grandchildren even keep them straight or remember who likes what? Christmases and birthdays must be nightmares! I doubt very seriously that I could do that on a regular basis. I commend those of you who can.

Casey and his daughter Taylor (my Suzy Myrtle) spent an overnight with us one night last week. As I was getting ready to go to Sioux Falls the next morning she watched as I put a necklace on and told me I shouldn’t wear it with the outfit I was wearing. "It just doesn’t go together." She should know. After all, she just turned three. I asked her if she thought it went with her outfit and her eyes got as big as saucers and a smile spread across her face as she shook her head yes. She was right, it did look better on her.
