Grandpa Speck's 4th of July visit

Grandpa Speck's Fourth of July "visit"

Some of you will think I’m crazy and some of you KNOW I am, but for those of you who believe in this sort of thing, I would like to share my recent Fourth of July story.

Early in the morning of the Fourth as we were preparing for the day Ed asked what we were going to do for the day and as he asked, the spirit of Grandpa (Bill) Speck, who had passed away in 1992, entered the room and let it be known to me that he wanted all of us to go see his parents in Gann Valley. I knew what we had to do and told Ed.

We (Ed, Grandpa and I) drove up there and toured the community, wondering just where the cemetery was. As we came down a street headed east we saw the cemetery across the highway so we went over. We parked at the gate and got out. Not knowing just where the graves were, Ed said he would go to the right and look over there and Grandpa and I went to the left. I (we?) walked right over to the graves of his parents as if I had been there before. I yelled over to Ed and told him I (we?) had found them. Then, just like that, Grandpa’s spirit went back "home" so we did, too, a little awed by the experience, but thankful for having had it. I have no explanation, I only know what I know.

Visits from our loved ones (and others) are so heartwarming we appreciate every one we have and anxiously any new ones we may have.
