A
picnic in December?

My friend and I had lunch at Taco John's the other day and sat outside
in the sun. The first of December and we're outdoors having lunch. It was such a
wonderful day to eat out and I suggested that maybe after I went back to work
she could layout, but she didn't think that would be anything she wanted to do.
On the other hand, two weeks ago during another beautiful day another
friend came to go out to lunch. "Let's pick up a lunch and go sit along the
river." I said thought it would be too cold down there, but maybe we could sit
in on one of the little horses in Stagecoach Park on Main Street where it would
be warmer and our friends would see us and envy us for the fun we were having.
Maybe they'd join us and we could make a party out of it. Needless to say, she
won. We go down by the river and it was beautiful (from inside the car.) Then we
got out and the wind she was ablowin'! And she (the wind) was cold. I admonished
her for being so bull-headed about wanting to go there and she said we could go
back to the car and go somewhere else. No way! She wanted to eat down there so
that was where we would eat. I made her sit right there and eat her lunch. Of
course, had I had a jacket on like her, I wouldn't have had to pull the collar
of my shirt up over my ears
and turn my back to the wind, but by golly, I stuck to my guns! I didn't even
have to chew ... the teeth just chattered and did all of the work for me.
It was an adventure and we lived through it in spite of my bitching and
griping, but next time she asks, "Where to?" I will have to stick to my guns and
take her to those little horsies in Stagecoach Park!
