Obituary
Sarah Jillison was born in New York State, Jan. 23, 1829. She was married to Eli Bute in the year 1853. They came to Ill. the same year that they were married. To this union there was born two sons, Oscar and Charlie. They emigrated to South Dakota in the year 1884. Then came the greatest trial of her life-losing her youngest son, who died after a brief illness of two months. He died at the age of twenty. In the year 1893 she went to California with her husband who died there Dec. 25, 1893. She then came to live with her aged sister in Wisconsin one year, then came back to her old home and kept house for her grandson until her death.
She leaves one son, one sister, and four brothers; also seven grandchildren to mourn her loss. She died March 16, 1904, at the age of seventy-five years one month and 15 days.
