He appears on roll of POW's at Point Lookout, Md on August 5, 1864 and was received at Elmira on August 12, 1864. He died Sept. 7, 1864 of Typhoid. His effects were 1 pr. shoes, 1 hat, 1 pocket book. The last letter his wife received was before capture and dated July 23, 1864. W.L. Faulkner was born in Lancaster County, SC 20 Feb. 1825. He is buired in Grave No. 309.

Capt. Robert Fishburne Jr. - (born:Sept. 5, 1843 in Charleston died:July 28, 1883 at Sullivans Island) Married Claudia Mary Miller. Children: 1.Claudia Gervais - Sept. 25, 1870-Dec. 25, 1933, 2. Robert - Nov. 6, 1871-unknown, 3. Benjamin Clay - Feb. 1, 1873 - Oct. 6, 1928, 4. Margaret Miller - July 27, 1874- 1924, 5. Charles Ewing - Feb. 18, 1879-Feb 12 1890, 6. Caroline Louisa - Oct. 31 1877- unknown, 7. Preston Wescott - Sept. 18, 1880- may 31, 1941Capt. Fishburne Served in the 2nd South Carolina Volunteer Infantry. He commanded Company I of Kershaw's Brigade, known as the Palmetto Guard. He enlisted as a private in this company and was promoted twice during the war. He became the captain and commanding officer of this company on June 6, 1864. He surrendered with Johnson's Army and was paroled at Greensboro on May 2, 1865.

Married: 1861 in Edgefield, SC, Wife: Elizabeth Polatty Free. (She received a pension check - $70.00 per year - 'til her death in 1922)
Children: His only son, William Jefferson Free, was born April 26, 1862 and was never seen by his father.
His obituary notice in the Edgefield SC Advertiser: "Killed by lightening at Chattanooga July 30, John M. Free, in his 26th year. In the death of John Free, the country has lost a gallant soldier and his wife a kind and loving husband. He was born in Edgefield where he lived till a short time before the war when he moved to Georgia. He joined the second Georgia cavalry Regiment. He left a wife and babe, a mother and 2 sisters."John was my ggf and his only son was my grandfather.

Thomas Riley Fripp, (Reverend) - died Sept. 1911, buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Columbia, SC. under a Confederate marker,was a Chaplain under Gen. Wade Hampton. Other than family history, I have not been able to confirm this. He attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC. The family was from Beaufort, SC.
