1940'S CANTEEN DANCE
Saturday, June 25th, 2022
We are pleased to invite you to join us on Saturday, June 25th, 2022, for a 1940's Canteen Dance at the American Legion Hall in Lexington, South Carolina. Come and dance the night away or just sit back and enjoy the entertainment with 1940's reenactors, memorabilia, a period canteen, door prizes and more! The doors will open at 6 pm, and the music will begin at 7 pm. What can you expect from the event?

Attire. Vintage 1940's clothing is highly encouraged, either Allied Military or Civilian, but is not required. Remember it will be June! So dress accordingly!
Music. Come and enjoy the music of 1930's & 40's, played on a set of original 1942 Philco Radios. Swing, Foxtrots, Waltz's and more by artists such as Glenn Miller, Kay Kyzer, Benny Goodman, Les Brown, The Ink Spots, Bing Crosby, Guy Lombardo, The Andrews Sisters, Spike Jones and many, many, more!
Refreshments. We will have a canteen operating for the event with some finger food items available, Coca-Cola's, Water, Coffee, Donuts, Cookies, etc. All prices will be the original 1940's prices! So be sure and bring a pocket full of dimes and nickels! The canteen will be CASH/COINS only - No Cards. Please note that this is a NON-alcoholic event.
Door Prizes. Every ticket will include a number that will be drawn that evening for one of several original 1940's door prizes!

WWII Memory Table. If you have a picture of your World War II family member(s) (Military or Civilian) please feel free to send in a digital copy for inclusion on our Veterans Memory Table! While this is sure to be a great time for all, it is important to remember those who have gone before! Please limit submissions to one (1) picture so that we can include all who wish to take part!

TICKETS
The ticket price covers admission, dancing and door prizes. There will be a limited number (100) of tickets available, so be sure and secure your ticket in advance! The cost for tickets is:
- RSVP - $15 per person
- At Door (Limited) - $20 per person
- WWII Veterans - All World War II Veterans will be given free admission.
A limited number of tickets can be purchased at the door if not already sold out. We will make an announcement when we get close to selling out.
Upon purchasing your ticket you will receive a confirmation email, and our reproduction Canteen tickets will be given to you at the door upon your arrival. Each ticket will contain a specialized number which will is your door prize ticket number - so don't lose them!)
Cancellation and Ticket Refund Policy. Cancellations may be made up to midnight, Sunday, June 19th. Refunds cannot be issued for any cancellations after that date or for missed or "no show" reservations. Cancellations are subject to a $3 cancellation fee, per person. DIRECTIONS & ACCOMODATIONS
Conveniently located off I-20 near downtown Lexington, South Carolina, the American Legion Hall is situated near great downtown Lexington restaurants, with several hotels and other accommodations nearby for our long distance guests!
Come early and pay a visit to the Lexington County Museum, or take a short trip to Columbia and visit the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room & Military Museum to learn more about South Carolina's Veterans of the Second World War!
