    In the name of God amen, I Percival Pawley of Prince George Parish in Craven County in the Province of South Carolina being in a low estate of health of body but in perfect memory do make this my last Will & Testament in manner and form following,  First I give and recommend my soul into the hands of almighty God that gave it and my body to a Christian burial at the discretion of my Exors. and for my worldly estate that it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give & bequeath as followeth my estate to be kept together till my just & lawfull debts are paid & then to be divided as followeth.

Item: I give & bequeath unto my loving wife Anna Pawley & her heirs as followeth, nine Slaves, Sarey, Hagar, Florah, Cate, Jack, Galloway, Hector, James & Dolley and the plantation I now live on which I bought of Peter Allston with all the appurtenances thereon & twenty cows & calves two feather beds & furniture to them & a chest of drawers six chairs a oval table & looking glass & three dishes & one doz. & half of plates & two Iron pots & her riding horse.  Item: I give & bequeath unto my son Robert Pawley & his heirs as followeth twenty two slaves, Toney, Elcey, Grace, Gola, Prince, Prince Jeney, Ceser, Linda, Venus, Sam, Jonny, Selah, Moreah, Selley, Ben, Cyrus, Joe, Crumil, Buff, Jemmy & Cubit & Setirah, the remainder of my stock of cattle & all my stock of horses & sheep & hogs & lands excepting the plantation I give my wife. My will & desire is if my son should die before his mother or before he is nineteen year old that his Mother should have the use of this part of the interest which I leave him and after her death to be divided between my nephew George Pawley & Shorey Pawley & Anthony Pawley & Susanna Pawley & lastly I do nominate my wife Anna Pawley, Paul Trapier Esq. George Pawley Junr. my lawfull Exorix & Exors to this my Last Will & Testament as witness my hand & Seal this first day of March one thousand seven hundred & forty-eight.
