WILL OF DANIEL PIPKIN

Horry District South Carolina

I Daniel Pipkin of Horry District S.C. planter being weak in body but of sound mine and memory Blessed by the Almighty god for the same. do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following 1st I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Lucy Pipkin one feather bed and furniture with my lot of cotten - 2nd It is my will and desire that all the residue of my estate both real and personal that I may die posest of to wit, two tracks of land containing about 750 ac. more or less a stock of cattle and hogs and sheep houshold and kitchen furniture one handmill one grinstone one horse and my fier armes one boate and plantation tools, be sold and an equal devision be maide betwean my beloved wife Lucy Pipkin and my beloved sone James Pipkin and my beloved daughter Ann Russ Mary Russ and Jane Pipkin Single woman - which said several legacies or sums of money I will and order shall be paid to the respective legatees within 12 months after my decease. by my Executors not yet named. 3rd And it is my will that my daughter Elizabeth Rogers be paid by my executors the sum of one dollar for her share of all the estate that I may die posest of, both real and personal 4th and Lastly I heare by Apoint my sone James Pipkin and my sone in Law John Russ my sole executors of this my Last Will and Testament and hear by revoking all former wills by me maid In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this 10th day of August in the yeare of our Lord 1824. Williams, Aaron Daniels, Elizabeth Jordan, John Williams, John Cannon, William Rogers, John Guiton, Samuel McCrackin, William Roberts, Rhoda Cook, John Beaty, Sr, Henry Dicks, Jane Pipkin, Jean Pipkin, and finally _________Pipkin (this looks like Luercacy Pipkin - possibly a poor derivation of Lucy).
