JOHN J. YOUNG DIES EARLY LAST FRIDAY-----John J. Young, sixty-six, merchant and farmer of this county, died at his home in the Yauhannah section early last Friday morning.  He had been in ill health for three years but only became seriously ill a week before. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Mount Tabor Baptist Church with the Rev.  A. D.  Woodle, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. B. D. Thames.  He was buried in the churchyard with Masonic honors. Mr. Young was born in Georgetown County May 20, 1869, and spent his entire life here.  He was a merchant and farmer. being successful in both enterprises by his integrity and fair dealings. At the time of his death he was a clerk and devoted member of Mount Tabor Church, having been elected to this office 43 years age ago.  He always took an active interest in the affairs of the church.  He joined Indiantown Lodge No. 165 A. F. M. 35 years ago and the brethren always sought his counsel. In 1926 Mr. Young was appointed a member of the Board of County Commissioners for this county and served until 1929, when he resigned to accept a place on the County Board of Assessors, which position he held up to the time of his death. Pall bearers were Sie P. Bruorton, B.G. Miller, John A. Bruorton, Louis W. Thompson, John P. Wilson and James D. Powers. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Agnes 0. Young;  three daughters, Mrs.  H. B. Bruorton of Georgetown.  Mrs. A. G. West of Mullins and Miss Nita Young of Yauhannah; four sons, J. S. Young of New Orleans, Daniel J., H. L., and L. J. Young; and a sister, Mrs. H. G. Ellis, Sr., all of this county.
