29 June 1821

Know all men by these presents that I, WILLIAM JOHNSON, SENR., shoe maker, in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars paid me by WILLIAM JOHNSON JUNR. of the above district and state aforesaid, Planter, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge I do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said WILLM JOHNSON JUNR. His heirs and assigns forever, two tracts or parcels of land lying and situated on the south side of Lynches Lake. Viz: the first tract containing 160 acres, more or less, bounded on all sides on vacant land which will more fully appear by a plat annexed to the grant thereof.Second tract being a part of a tract or survey of land, surveyed for WILLIAM JAMES the 8th day of May 1812(?) containing 570 acres ( a part of which the said WILLIAM JAMES sold EDWD. D. JOHNSON containing 194 acres) which leaves a balance of 326 acres more or less, bounded northwest on WILLIAM JAMES' land, southwest on JOHN WITHERSPOON'S land, and northwest on EDWARD D. JOHNSON'S , and on the north on the above tract of 160 acres, which will more fully appear by a plat annexed to the grant thereof. To have and to hold the said granted premises with the privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to him the said WILLIAM JOHNSON JUNR. His heirs and assigns forever, and I the said WILLIAM JOHNSON SENR. for myself, my heirs and administrators do covenant with the said WILLIAM JOHNSON JUNR. His heirs and assigns that I am lawfully seized in fee of the premises that they are free of all encumbrances that I have good right to sell and convey the same to the said WILLIAM JOHNSON JUNR. And I hold the above lands as aforesaid. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 29 June 1821.
