Clerk of Court
Maintains all criminal and civil court records, evidence; records judgements and Lis Pendens; receives fine and restitution payments.
Family Court
Maintains Family and Juvenile Court records, including divorces, child support and adoptions; receives/disburses child support payments.
Probate Court
Has jurisdiction over all subject matter related to estates of decedents, trusts (inter-vivos or testamentary), issuane of marriage licenses, involuntary commitment of individuals suffering from mental illness, mental retardation, alcoholism, drug addiction or active TB, and wrongful death or action under the survival statute.
 
**Remember, there will be no Calhoun county records prior to 1908, when the county was created out of parts of Lexington and Orangeburg counties. For older records, you may need to check these counties.

They currently have birth and death records since January 1915, marriage records since July 1950, and divorce records since July 1962. Call (803) 898-3630 for costs.
 
For marriages occurring between July 1911 and June 1950, contact the Probate Court in the county where the license was issued. For divorce records occurring between April 1949 and June 1962, contact the County Clerk in the county where the petition was filed.
