RHONDA McCLURE


Rhonda R. McClure is a professional genealogist specializing in New England research and computerized genealogy and is the author of the award-winning The Complete Idiot's Guide to Online Genealogy and The Genealogist's Computer Companion. She has been involved in online genealogy for fourteen years. At the Ultimate Family Tree website, she offered insight to users of UFT program and about how to do general genealogy. She was the Data Manager of the Genealogy RoundTable on Genie� and the forum manager for the Genealogy Forum on MSN�. Her ASK RHONDA: Genealogy Questions Answered appears online. She has had articles published in Everton's Genealogical Helper, Heritage Quest, and Ancestry magazines. She is or was a contributing editor to American Genealogy Magazine, Heritage Quest, NGS/CIG Digest and Genealogical Computing. She also writes a five-day-a-week e-mail newsletter, Family Tree Finders, for SodaMail, devoted to teaching and helping others interested in the pursuit of their ancestry. She has spoken at numerous national, regional and local genealogy conferences and seminars. Many of her current speaking engagements concentrate on computerized genealogy. In 1999 she was awarded first place in "Genealogy Columns in Journals and Magazines" by the Council of Genealogy Columnists. In 2000 she was awarded first place in the "Books" category for The Complete Idiot's Guide to Online Genealogy by the International Society of Family History Writers and Editors. She volunteers at her local Family History Center, where she looks forward to helping newcomers to this fascinating hobby. JULIA M. CASE

Julia M. Case ("Julie") is a professional genealogist who specializes in transcription of colonial Virginia records. A graduate of the George Washington University's Columbian College of Arts and Sciences (A.B. 1967), the National Genealogical Society's home study course "American Genealogy: A Basic Course," the New England Historic Genealogical Society's first Come Home to New England seminar, and the National Institute of Genealogical Research (1992), she has attended several dozen conferences held by the National Genealogical Society, the Federation of Genealogical Societies, the New England Historic Genealogical Society and the Virginia Genealogical Society. She served as co-moderator of Prodigy� Classic's Genealogy Interest Group, and is editor of Missing Links and former co-editor of RootsWeb Review. She also edits Somebody's Links Newsletter. Case previously served as an instructor for the National Genealogical Society's home study course, trustee of the Association of Professional Genealogists, board member of the Friends of the Virginia State Archives, membership chairman of the Virginia Genealogical Society, and assistant sysop on GEnie's Genealogy RoundTable. Her articles have appeared in American Genealogy Magazine, the Friends of the Virginia State Archives publication Archives News, and the Virginia Genealogical Society's quarterly Magazine of Virginia Genealogy, in the last of which her transcriptions of "Henrico Co. Record Book No. 2, 1678-1693" appeared from 1991 through 1998. She is a life member of the Friends of the Virginia State Archives and the Virginia Genealogical Society, and a member of International Society of Family History Writers and Editors, the Association for Gravestone Studies, Association of Professional Genealogists, National Genealogical Society, New England Historic Genealogical Society, North Carolina Genealogical Society, Virginia Historical Society, and National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

MYRA VANDERPOOL GORMLEY,CG ^SM


Myra Vanderpool Gormley is a Certified Genealogist ^SM, a syndicated columnist and a feature writer for the Los Angeles Times Syndicate (now a division of Tribune Media Services) and has written more than a thousand articles on the subject of genealogy. She is editor of RootsWeb Review; former co-editor of Missing Links and is webmaster for Muskogee County, Oklahoma, Creek Nation, Indian Territory, and Finney County, Kansas pages. Her genealogical articles have appeared in New England Historic Genealogy Society's NEXUS, American Genealogy Magazine, Colonial Homes magazine, and Heritage Quest. She was the genealogy expert for Prodigy� from 1990-1999. Her books are: Family Diseases: Are You at Risk?, Cherokee Connections (both published by Genealogical Publishing Company) and Prima's Companion Guide to Family Tree Maker. She serves as an advisor for the genealogy/family history certificate program at the University of Washington in Seattle, and also served as a consultant on Ancestors, a television series which aired on PBS-TV in 1997. She is a member of numerous genealogical and historical societies, including Board for Certification of Genealogists, the Oregon-California Trails Association, International Society of Family History Writers and Editors, and the Mary Ball Chapter (Tacoma, Washington) of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She has been a guest on dozens of television and radio programs throughout the United States and Canada, and has addressed numerous genealogical and historical groups at luncheons, seminars and workshops.
