41. John⁴ Moon was born in Maryland April 4, 1797.⁽²⁹⁾ John died April 25, 1856 in Illinois, at 59 years of age.⁽³⁰⁾ His body was interred in Atwood, Douglas, Illinois, Taylor Cemetery.

He married Catherine Ferry in Maryland, Abt 1817.⁽³¹⁾

John's will was probated in Piatt Co., Illinois, 1856.⁽³²⁾ Quoted by Rick Lanham, from the will of John MOON: "And lastly I give and bequeath to the remainder of my heirs as follows (to wit) Nancy Wood, Eliza Stingley, Elizabeth Thornburgh, Sarah McBride, Jacob Moon, and Jane Moon, five dollars each. Share and share alike."

John Moon and Catherine Ferry had the following children:

42 i.Nancie³ Moon⁽³³⁾ was born in Virginia about 1818.⁽³⁴⁾She married Eli Wood about 1846.⁽³⁵⁾

43 ii.George Moon was born in Virginia about 1822.⁽³⁶⁾He married Mary Ann Babb in Coles Co., Illinois, 9 Aug 1848.⁽³⁷⁾

44 iii.Abraham Moon was born in Virginia 1824.⁽³⁸⁾He married Sarah E. Prather in Douglas Co., Illinois, 25 Feb 1886.⁽³⁹⁾

45 iv.Sarah Moon was born about 1828. She married John Sanford McBride in Piatt Co., Illinois, 29 Jan 1848.⁽⁴⁰⁾

46 v.Elizabeth Moon was born in Monongahela, Washington, Pennsylvania 12 Dec 1830.⁽⁴¹⁾ Elizabeth died 1901 at 70 years of age. She married twice. She married Cornelius Williams about 1855. She married an unknown person in Moultrie, Illinois, 12 Dec 1867.⁽⁴²⁾

47 vi.Andrew Jackson Moon was born in Indiana 15 Apr 1833.⁽⁴³⁾

48 vii.Jacob Moon was born in Indiana about 1835.⁽⁴⁴⁾ He married twice. He married an unknown person. He married Temperance Standerfer in Coles Co., Illinois, 7 Feb 1856.⁽⁴⁵⁾ Temperance was born ABT 1840. Temperance was the daughter of Archibald Standerfer Jr..
