Eastern Townships Cemeteries > Compton County > Libby Cemetery
Libby CemeteryLocation: From the town of Compton take Route 147 North a few miles. As you start to go down the hill, keep an eye out for the cemetery on the left side of the road. If coming from Lennoxville, take 143 to 147 and continue past Milby. The cemetery will be on the right side part way up the hill.
This burying ground is in the area known by old timers as Libby Hill. Today route 147 is a busy highway so it is best to drive into the nearby farm driveway.
There is only one monument. (The name on the sign is Libbey and the monument Libby). It is fenced and has a sign and gate but really no access road. Due to encroachment by farmers over the years, the cemetery is much smaller than it used to be especially since it contains at least thirteen burials.
