Hilltop Cemetery
Fitch Bay, Stanstead County, Quebec

 

Location:   In Fitch Bay take Taplin Street to the end and turn left on Bosquets Fleuris. Go up the hill and out of the woods into the opening. The cemetery is located in back of 80 Bosquets Fleuris Road which is on your left. 

This abandoned cemetery is the final resting place of the area's earliest settlers. To get to the cemetery you will have to get permission to cross property owned presently by Xavier Kauffmann. The cemetery is behind his house and completely overgrown. The stones can be seen from the road if you look carefully. It is hoped that this old burial ground will be restored.

I walked and read this cemetery on Apr 23, 2007. This included all existing and legible tombstones.
